Bell target shooting was air rifle only at six yards.

Shot in pubs over the heads of the seated spectators and other competitors, the targets were fixed to the wall rather like dart boards are.

http://www.double-deuce.org.uk/ lets people shoot without being members etc. and they even used to have a mobile .22 range that went to outdoor events etc.
That's the second time I've seen double-deuce in the last week. Never before heard of it but twice in a week. Is it brand new?

Yes. They're in Bloxwhich, Fryers Road. They opened early March and seem to be doing well. I went there myself and had a good hours shoot.

Approved ranges only conditions on FACs granted for target shooting were dropped quite some time ago and replaced by a condition requiring adequate insurance instead.

Some of the older, near-term FACs may have that condition still, I guess they'll disappear when they all get renewed if they haven't been already.

The point is there is some debate about whether the firearms used all have to be S11 or classed as a 'miniature rifle', and if they are on FAC they are S1, Some argue that any S1 firearm that otherwise meets the S11 criteria can be used but others say not, and if there are any non-S11 firearms being used then S11 cannot be used, it's the "are they miniature rifles if they are S1" argument. The law says that "no firearms are used other than air weapons or miniature rifles".

Personally I don't want to be the test case that clarifies this.
