From the point of view from the scum, Unless the scum has done his research, would take a brave scum to want to rob a someone transporting firearms unless the said scum has a shooter or few other scum to back him up
Another interesting thorey, an example, let's say 2 scum approach you loading your car with intent to rob your guns (they have no guns) but have knives or whatever you somehow take your gun out of its sleeve unloaded and tell them to back off !! (Hoping the mere sight of an gun even through unloaded would get them to rethink )Would they really risk it ? Would you risk prosecution ? As your intent was stop your guns ending up in the wrong hands at all costs

Of course said miscreants now have a choice ............

Do they attack you and try to take whatever you have in your car ,

Do they crash your house hoping to get a really tasty piece of hardware ,

Or do they come back when they hope the house is empty , take their time and go for the jackpot ?

I'm with Sim on the uses for a pistol. Also if you carried a pistol all that'd happen is that when they hit you over the back of the head unexpectedly, they'd get a free handgun too.

Handguns like other firearms have to be carried unloaded to the range, unless its on your FAC for personal protection. I do see lots here making sure their handgun is loaded leaving the range rather than unloaded.

Yes they would have to show clear after shooting, if they were using their PPW they would then load it at a safe place before leaving the range.

It seems from this that having a proper security plan in place should be paramount. BTW Guns are a last resort in security... but you all know that already
