Re: HRA Precision & Snap Shooting Match Sunday 8 March 15
Had a few queries about Sundays Match.
Q1. Firstly what does kneeling/sitting supported mean?
A1. You can use whatever type of rest or support you wish as long as you are carrying it with your rifle and all equipment 3m behind the firing line and its not touching the ground at the start of the Stage 4. That means an extra long bipod, or shooting sticks, tripod, back pack or what ever but you only have 4 mins to move into position, set up and complete the stage when the targets appear.
Q2. How many rounds can I fire in Stage 4?
A2. Its a maximum of ten shots to count there are 15 circles on the Fig 27, only a one hit per circle will be scored up to a maximum of 10, excess hits will not be scored nor penalised.
Lastly I have had one chap drop out so if you want in or know someone who does get in contact ASAP.

Well it went well today, lots learnt by quite a few competitors in a tricky, for some, wind flipping between 3 to 7 mph. The supported stage at 300 saw various Heath Robinson rests, poles, tripods, long legged bipods, backpacks and a B&D Workmate.
Full scores will be up tomorrow but here are the placings in each Class:
.223 1st Gavin Haywood 306
.223 2nd Fred Cooke 302
.223 3rd Bill Ellis 301
.308 1st Dave Wylde 358
.308 2nd Dave Green 325
.308 3rd Ady Waters 303
Wildcat 1st John Morgan-Hosey 400
Wildcat 2nd Layne Chisholm 359
Wildcat 3rd Matt Lee 356

A few Stats:
There were 43 Competitors, 5 no shows unfortunately.
There were 10 shooters in .223 class, 19 shooters in .308 class and 14 in WC class.
On Stage 1 the highest WC score was 30, the highest .308 score was 25, the highest .223 score was 10.
In the 'Know Your Limits' stage at 500 yards most people opted for the Fig 12c, the highest score in that stage was 9-1 on a Fig 14.
Sitting supported rapid is not easy.
Sitting supported placement was an unlimited rounds stage, maximum rounds fire by a single competitor was 50+
