Phil, bummer mate but such is the law..it's only as good as the money you have to throw at it.

As I used to advise clients, make a stand and it will die down or go away......if you know the system you can do amazing things.

In Scotland making him bankrupt would be the answer, that way ALL his affairs would be investigated ..well that is the theory but we all know better. Not sure if ity would be of benefit in Ireland...

is he doing anything illegal with his FAC, maybe the terrorism guys (good or bad) would look at an anonymous call about him..

The system in northern ireland is very different to the UK, the welfare of the debtor has to be taken into account and there are no court appointed private bailiffs, fortunately the officer dealing with my case has made visits outside office hours but still not managed to get hold of the man.
I've been fortunate in that I've had a lot of support from fellow shooters who have pm'd with info but never enough for the EJO to pin him down.
There is only one option left and that would involve trying to raise a criminal prosecution relating to a small part of the whole saga for which the case would be easily proven, however this could lead to an innocent third party being dragged in and also being liable to prosecution for an oversight on their part. So my "man" gets off yet again.
On the bright side his reputation is in tatters, though no doubt he will surface somewhere else in time.
What goes around comes around and I'm lucky in that the financial loss is a bearable ( though would buy plenty of bullets and powder) so this one will be chalked up as a bad experience.

Basically the law relies on the the dishonest party being honest and paying up when they are found guilty, if they choose not to be, then it would appear to be relatively easy (in northern ireland at least ) to avoid complying with judgements. As this is a civil matter its up to me to keep paying to pursue it, which obviously becomes uneconomical as many of the further costs are not recoverable from the debtor.
Ridiculous state of affairs but that's the law of the land. In this instance complicated by the fact that the seizure order requires a police presence (as firearms are involved) and the police,

1, do not see this as a priority
2, as its in northern ireland may actually "decline" to attend if the seizure is in a "sensitive area"

In some respects the whole saga has been quite educational, but i would have been better off working the hours I've put into chasing the matter as then I would have got paid.

I cannot emphasise that enough on here when it comes to dodgy goods. yes there IS legislation and consumer protection....but as Artiglo has found, using it is way different. You have to weigh up the eventual costs versus the loss you have right now.

Name and shame..............it's the only way....I doubt Artiglo can use the Sunday bum wipes or maybe Watchdog as it has been through the courts...no harm in trying thougfh...

Excellent news, I have today received a cheque from the EJO in northern ireland settling this long standing saga in full. Many thanks to all who have offered advice and support. A long slow process that eventually came to fruition.
