A swift glance on Gunbroker seems to price generic FALs at between 800 and 2500 dollars. Looks like "who made it" or what parts are used greatly influences the price.

Sounds about right.
A local FAL expert? Wouldnt happen to be The Gunplumber at Arizona Response Systems would it?
If so it is a Top shelf firearm. He is one of the best. If not "THE" best in the US.
Yup even a better FAL builder then I am.
Or a gent named Rob in New Mexico? Another Top shelf builder.

Burner, could well be a local builder in arizona, I know a couple of folks who have used him and reckon he's THE man...I am asking around on it, some of the group know the history..just trying to get them is the hard part..

He has an "insurance value" of $2300...no way! I would offer up to say a grand as it's for the business and see what happens.......
It's got a wee Leupold CQB scope on it...well canted at that.
