There are a ton of fabric and leather cheek pads available that attach with shock cord, laces, buckle straps, velcro straps, etc, all nice and cheap. You can also get solid ones that screw right into your existing stock. Or you could fashion your own like this:

I use 2 bits of pipe lagging, one atop the other, trimmed to get the right profile, taped together and then trimmed so that the bolt will fit. I then put that under a stock cover.
Looks crap
Feels and fits ok

So it looks like there's plenty of options - thank you for the suggestions :cheers:

I'll try some sort of pad/sleeve, and also the pipe lagging (seems like it was made for it) - As the rifle is lever action I don't need to worry about the bolt; and I'm not too fussed what it looks like at first (It didn't seem to be a problem for last years' Queens winner!).

Nice job Porcupine :good: - If the cheek piece helps, then I'll look at the possiblity of a permanent option later...
