Outside shooting, I am a photographer. Getting a picture of a person that captures who they are is difficult, and these two pictures are superb.

The other pictures of the birds are also majestic. I love her holding the bird while caressing the dog's chin. Regrettably, she wasn't looking at the camera. or this could have been an award winning shot. Well done.

For those of you in the UK who do the gamefair circuit - most of you should know this face - he is like a Dad to my wife, he is flying a young Harris hawk female that I bred.


Same falconer as previous (Terry Large) with Morag the ferruginous x Red tail


Left to right Bob Douce (another face some may recognise from the gamefairs, Lydia (Chief bridesmaid), Terry Large (again) and Dave Rhodes head keeper and great friend at Bodidris hall.

These are two of "Diesel" the Gyr/per in his first season, this is one awesome gamehawk!

Yes, Radio telemetry, I would not fly any of my birds without it - a decent set (Transmitter and receiver) costs more than the bird - but it is the responsible thing to do - these are apex predators, and if one goes walk about - then you have a responsibility to bring them back. We use on on the hawks, but 2 on the falcons and eagles.

If you look closely at the other photos - you will be able to make them out on all the birds that are being flown free.

Some great photos and something very different , I was at Ludlow castle in Shropshire a couple of weeks ago watching a falconry display , not sure but from memory it looks like your friend Terry . It great experiance to see the birds flying .

We were at a display a few weeks ago where they lost a bird, an Argentinian something, grey in colour (!!) The good news is it adjourned to a tree to feast on an unlucky pigeon, apparently it is quite a regular occurrence and best they can do is run across the fields after it or hope a member of the public rings up....

That is I am afraid the standard of some of the display givers in the UK - very poor I am afraid, please don't think this is the normal for displays! (well not good ones anyway!)

Do you mean a "Chilean blue?" (It is technically an Eagle) - if so, where was the display? it will not be too hard to work out who was flying it then!
