Just a thought......
Are tracer rimfire rounds the same as ordinary rimfire rounds as regards legality?
Do they have to be a slot on your ticket like slugs?

Same as centrefire tracer are no different from ordinary centrefire rounds from a legal standpoint.....it's only when you add extra letters that they became a problem!.

I have a load left from whenever however only around 1:5 lights up, so I have left them on a shelf as it seems a shame to shoot them off for no reason.

I'm of the same mind, Dave. I have a few hundred of both Eley (short range burn) and RWS (burn for a good 200yds). It seems a shame to shoot them off for no reason and these days they are more of a collector's item.

Interesting as a curio, I have some in those boxes, I guess around 25 years old now. I tried 10 recently and not one traced, originally they were 100% reliable.

Don't use them on MOD ranges or anywhere dry in the summer

The only place I have used them is MoD ranges.

Admittedly it has been on days not deemed a fire risk and permitted by the range authorities.
