I've used a VXR Patrol 1.25-4 for the last two seasons, It's certainly good enough to get started with.

Don't think about it too much...Just give it a try.

Your AUG + Vortex will do OK. There are a few to be seen at matches. The people that use them seem to like them.

Slings are a personal preference. Many use them, but plenty don't. Shoot some matches and find out what works for you.
