Saying that, I've always used a Lee Classic Press and it does exactly what it says on the tin for a lot less cash. Save your pennies and buy more bullets.

I use a Lyman.

Best to try as many different types and makes as you can as they all do the job. So it is which one fits your needs and loading style. The cheaper Lee presses tend not to last unless used carefully and without any loading needing any effort the classic cast is in a better league to their other ones.

My go to press is a Wamadet followed in order of preference by Redding, Forster, RCBS, Holywood and a Lyman Tru Line Junior taking 310 dies. I have sold my Lee classic cast and their classic turret.

For non bench loading my preference are BPM, Wamadet and Lyman 310 tongs and of course the Lee loaders but then they don't need a press.

I'm still using the basic Lee single stage that I bought in 1988. Never had a problem.

Obviously Derek you have used yours carefully and never stressed it with loading needing any effort such as case forming.

My go to press is a co-ax bought second hand hand. I also us a Redding for decapping cases and Dillon progressives for volume loading.
I use a Corbin swaging press for really heavy work.
If I were to chose one to start with I guess it would be a Redding or RCBS - second hand of course!

I have recently acquired a Wamadet press up to now it has coped with all my reloading needs. I'm impressed with its performance and the fact it is portable.

I've just bought my fourth one.

Lee classic cast press very good, catches all the spent primers in a tube, has positive stops during the bullet seating and crimping stroke, well designed, does it all. Redding big boss 2 and Ultra mag also very good and catch the spent primers, in a tube, more expensive than Lee.
