How many do you fire all of them through the year....
Is your Mosin Sniper a real one or made up, I owned a 1944 Tula which was real and that one also would hit the vbull at 1000 if I did my bit.
+1 for the Mauser M48 I have a B model, mint condition for £300 when bought.

It's looking like a P14. I could all ways buy a cheap Nagant and build a sniper my self from bits I suppose at least I would know it was a copy.

Buy an nice hex receiver Mosin and give it some love, I recently aquired a very nice 1926-dated ex-Dragoon with matching numbers for £275, cleaned all the Cosmoline out of, and off, the old girl and spent some time shimming the action, reworking the trigger etc and she shoots very nicely with one of the best bores I've seen on a Mosina.
My '39 Izhevsk M91/30 cost me £150 plus a bit of time shimming the action and smoothing the trigger etc and WelshShooter will attest to how well it shoots with standard Russian milsurp as he had a bit of fun at Sennybridge with it........
To be fair a lot of Mosins have had the action removed from the stock God knows how many times and may not actually have their original stock at all and the tightening and retightening of the action screws and the effect it has on the contact areas on the stock can cause awful accuracy problems, not to mention bores full of copper residue but with some effort and tlc they can be turned into accurate (for an old battle rifle) shooters......plus it is part of the joy of Mosina ownership.
With "snipers" it pays to do your homework and learn what to look for to find an original.Plenty of good Mosin websites out there with good advice, here's a couple of links to two of the best......

I have settled on a P14 for now but a Mosin is not out of the question either. I have a vacant slot for both calibres.
Id be interested to hear more about the shimming why shim and how is it done.

Just buy the P14, stick a Brindles trigger and a fine vernier rear sight on it and prepare to be astounded

I have a Parker hale adjustable aperture rear sight in a drawer for the P14. I kept it for just such an occasion I guess at the back of my mind I all ways new I was going to buy another one. The last P14 I owned cost me the princely sum of £150 it was one of the most accurate milsurps I ever owned. I still can not believe I sold it.

A PH is fine however an original fine vernier is better as they were original fitment which keeps it original, the Brindles night not be original however it enhances the shooting experience 1000 fold.

Yep all of them, had 5 out Sunday just gone at 300yds, Garand, Jungle Carbine, Type 99 Arisaka, MAS 36 and the K98 sniper. Mosin is a real one, bought about 5 years ago.
