Chester in the North - I don't think so.
Hornady ammo can be bought at Hannams on the A1 just north of the M61 junction at Selby. Definitely derivable from Chester.

Err strange but NRA 155grain GGG is proven to be incredibly accurate in any one of about +800 different rifles at this years Imperial shooting competition 0.5-sub1 moa groups from almost any decent target rifle with a good barrel.

And this helps a man from Chester.......all very well if you have access to a good reliable source of ammo like the NSC.

To the OP, in the first instance you need to do some meaningful tests using ammo you can easilly get hold of.

Then, based on cost and availability you need to look at how you are going to keep a supply of the ones that produce the results you wnat going. We had a hell of a time when the yanks started stock piling.

The GGG stuff is doing well by all accounts, it may be worth you trying some and then looking at buying a batch of whatever you can afford. The thing is that by the time you have faffed about with collecting/RFD or courier you may not have much of a saving.

My advice is to have a small pot of what works. Its a pain, its expensive, but in the long term it will keep you shooting.

Neither were target rifles, an M14 and a FAL both shot notably better with Hornady TAP as I recall.
