Chapuis, very true, the M38 was closer to GBP20.00 and I can still remember buying 54R HB in paper and string for GBP12/100 under 10 years ago from a local gun shop.

Splitting was with factory S&B brass - about 2 out of the 50 rounds did it. For comparision thus far I've shot about 300 PPU and 300 mil surp (unsure of provenance) and not had one split. The chamber looks ok but I've not slugged it / measured it either way.snayperskaya wrote:Simplyammo and ammozone are £35 a 100 for milsurp, you don't have to buy it in 440 round spam cans.
Nick....I've run around 500 factory Sellior&Bellot through my Dragunovs and not had one problem with it, was the splitting with factory ammo or handloads?.
I enquired about 54r from them but they wouldn't ship to my local RFD.bnz41 wrote:Suffolk Rifles has 7.62x54r at £30 per 100 for 150gr milsurp and is excellent stuff and no split cases
I get my ammo shipped to my RFD by TNT and never had a problem and it has always arrived swiftly.ovenpaa wrote:Ammunition can only be shipped by TNT and some people feel as a courier company they are not ideal. Personally as I am yet to have a truly positive experience with any courier company with the exception of UPS and they have nothing to do with UK firearms.
Could you not go and collect or are you to far to travel to make it worth it. Suffolk do use TNT for rifles.snayperskaya wrote:I enquired about 54r from them but they wouldn't ship to my local RFD.bnz41 wrote:Suffolk Rifles has 7.62x54r at £30 per 100 for 150gr milsurp and is excellent stuff and no split cases
Too far to make it worth it, what I pay in shipping from other dealers is less than it would cost me in time and fuel to collect it as no one local to me sells 54r or x39 milsurp.bnz41 wrote:Could you not go and collect or are you to far to travel to make it worth it.
