It's a KRG X-Ray - see here. They're sold here in the UK by March Scopes.
I've had it around six months and love it.

March also have some nice accessories for the KRG chassis

Re: Short and thick ?
I run a 20" 308 for years , more than adequate to 800m
I think you'd be fine with a 16" barrel in 308 for 300m

Re: Short and thick ?
Hmmm, a very heavy 16 inch barrel is sounding quite appealing...
Bergara, do you think, or Lothar Walther ?

Re: Short and thick ?
All premium barrels are good (border had a wobble a while ago but I think they are ok now) I have had success with old border and pac nor select match , short barrels are stiffer and in my experience seem easier to find accuracy from , my 308 was an original factory heavy tube from Remington and I got lucky and it was a real shooter .
With a shorter barrel you won't need to go excessively heavy

Re: Short and thick ?
Use a 16" or 18" barrel with a 1 in 10 twist (or faster) threaded for a quality moderator and you will also have a good subsonic rifle.......I know these things excite you!!

Re: Short and thick ?
Indeed they do.
Does anybody have opinions, or better still, experience of the Lothar Walther polygonally rifled barrels?

Re: Short and thick ?
I've looked at those with considerable interest Mr Brock - I' be inclined to give one a go. Coulped with a suitable moderator you could end up with a very accurate and quiet boomstick.
