Simple question...what's the best .22 ammo you can buy :?:

Simple answer
The one that suits your rifle best , regardless of price .

A lot of it depends on what your intended usage is , I use RWS Geco but I have been batch weighing it as the variation in weight is between 3.21 to 3.29 grams , so Iam trying to remove the high flyers and the low squibs and just shoot one weight batch at a time , I have tried the same with Eley match and RWS Target but the differences in rounds is negligiable so I dont worry with them . Its a case of trying different makes in each rifle and find which one performs the best .

My CZ452 puts Centre X on an old penny at 50...Tenex puts them in the same hole...yes they break the bank.

Our champ uses RWS.

I used eley club for years,then they chaged it and it started flying all over the shop. so iwent to rws target rifle and started winning stuff!!

Yep the old orange box was good stuff I think they started getting it made in different countries ,

I use Geco in my sport rifle as it seems to cycle better than other reasonably priced ammo - it seems ok through my Anschutz, but I havn't tried it rested with a scope, so not sure...

The last decent .22 I got was Eley Match (couldn't push the wallet to Tenex) - I bought 500 and tried to save them for 'best'...only problem was, that when I got to the last few boxes, the lead had oxidized quite a bit.

I'll pick up a box of Tenex and RWS at some point, and try it compaired to the Geco.

Most rabbits I've asked seem to swear by CCI subsonic frangible...

I have been using geco and found them ok in my marlin. The first batch seemed ok and were fairly clean. The second batch were really greasey and left a lot of residue. I tried remington thunderbolt and my groups tightened up and they dont seem so dirty. The down side is I have had one that did not fire
