According to his ego online at https://www.petersquires.net

"In 2003 he was briefly co-opted onto the Home Office Firearms Consultative Committee as a result of his work in the field of firearms and crime. "

I found the word 'briefly' interesting. It suggests he was rumbled by someone that actually knew what they're about.

I do believe this to be BS he made up. There are reports that there was a FOI request to find out what role he played and it turned out they didn't know who he was.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

I read he was an advisor direct from the NABIS website, several years ago - cant find any trace of it now.

Could be, I'm going on something I read on the internet ( wtf ) last week and it might be about a different organisation (FELWG?) but I've tried to find the source and cannot just now. I'll keep looking.

A lot of information that was originally on their website, when it was first set-up, now seems "out of view".

All of these lead to a dead end.:

Its interesting that the GCN seems to have no way for a person to join .

Clearly a very secret society .

I remember seeing a list of their supporters, included Sainsbury's as I remember it. I did try to look it up sometime later but the reference had disappeared from their web site.

Someone summing up the GCN:

https://www.everything2.com/title/Gill+Marshall-Andrews

If you search "Gill Marshall-Andrews" (Wife of Ex Labour/Liberal MP, Bob Marshall-Andrews) you will see just how much of the anti-gun hysteria she is responsible for.

The article is a straight, localised copy paste job (I.e. lazy journalists)

If you google a phrase from it, you’ll see all the other local rags that have run the same article

E.g.

https://www.google.com/search?q=There+i ... ertificate

It happens every year or two. Same 'local' rag network spamming the same article at the same time.
