Wanted to try my Winchester at 100mtrs today with the dinky 357 homeloads and what a suprise!

I used 12grns of Alliant 2400 with Dodgyrogs hard cast boolits and at 100mtrs it was spot on all bar a few rounds which went off course when the wind got up.I did load up some cases with 14grns to see what these were like,but at 100mtrs they were terrible and scattered badly.

My friend shot his 357 Marlin with homeloads too,but he didnt up the powder and quickly found his rounds were dropping several feet short!!!

Have they fixed the flag yet or is it still attached to a piece of wood on frame 7?

The one by the gates was flying along with the one in the field beyond the butts.

The safety flag that is usually dropped by the butt party before shooting commences, it should be on a flag pole by the right hand door but has been broken the last couple of times I shot at BR, they had improvised with a lump of 4x2 with a re flag on stuck in the side of the frame on No7

Cant say i noticed a flag near the door,but i was more intrested in not getting huge splinters in my hand while carrying the target frame. :lol:

Good result with your homeloads for the Winny :goodjob: - Shows that there is no reason not to use them at 100/200 yrds...

The ones I have shot with always seem like decent people, I had some fascinating discussions with a VAA chap at BR who drives a moggie traveller, is he still around?

Good effort with the Winchester. I'm looking forward to trying the 44mag out to 200 yds at the end of the year.
