In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Very basically, it's a trigger-released self-ejecting rifle.

It came to the (then) ACPO's attention a few years back...

They seem to be somewhat more controversial than lever-release rifles. I don't know if that relates to the specific / sole use of the trigger to keep it firing - or if there was something else about it they didn't like. In any case, it was mentioned is isolation in the ACPO / NPCC minutes.

I know you love/hate a good acronym so MARS stands for Manually Actuated Release System.

No, only phased-plasma rifles in the 40 Watt range are in Section 5.

A guy at i know was banging on and on about his cz mars thing, when i finally saw it i could not believe what a load of rubbish it looked like, possibly the ungliest gun since the french bar wannabe, it looked like a supermarket childs toy... I was completely unsurprised when it broke shortly after... Rubbish accuracy and as far as i could tell a waste of money...
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!
