I would not have unloaded firearms in a classroom, i would be happy for deactivated firearms to be in a classroom.

That cop was just dumb - showed a serious lack of training. Would hope Brit Mil are better trained than that.

I can see your point on deacts - but I doubt it would make any difference up there.

It wasn't specifically Scottish madness at government level, it was the school staff who put the ban on guns into place. Much the same could easily happen here.

Schools are quite prone to this, one parent complains and without consulting other parents, some sort of knee-jerk reaction is taken.
Careful now/that sort of thing

I have my doubts about that, my son, aged 16, is quite critical about school's stupidity on issues like this. Mind you he's fairly sensible, likes to shoot the largest calibre of whatever is on offer.

I'd say that's mainly down to good parenting. That in itself seems to be getting rarer... :(
