Any one got any experience of them?
Lead in time for renewals? Ease of obtaining variations/extra slots? Helpful/unhelpful? and such like.

Re: Staffordshire Firearms certification department
My shotgun renewal last year wasn't quick - despite being submitted in plenty of time I didn't get my new cert until about 6 weeks after my old one expired, but my last variation was done in a few days so it can be a bit of a mixed bag.
I think it all depends weather you need a visit or follow up call on how fast they deal with you but I've always found them helpful.

Re: Staffordshire Firearms certification department
I thought that Staffordshire and West Midlands Police had combined their firearms licencing departments

Staffordshire and West Midlands are a combine firearms licensing unit, base in Stafford , my grant was a couple of months if I remember correct, I have had a few variations and to be fair they were reasonably quick , I think one variations took 6 days ??? . I think it's the luck of the draw, it shouldn't be,but it is,not enough staff and a overly complicated system.

Re: Staffordshire Firearms certification department
I sent off a couple of 1-4-1 variations 20/06/17.
They have taken the opportunity to assess my security as I've just moved house. I saw the FEO today, but they had missed off my 1-4-1's n the new cert. FEO Expected it to take a week for them to get my new one out.
It's certainly not fast, but definitely under strain since combining with West Mids and budget cuts :(
