A friend of mine was zeroing his new AR at Bisley zero range, he put his left arm under the rifle stock and unknowingly pushed up the stock release lever, he pulled the trigger and the stock collapsed leaving him with a lovely scope shaped cut above his eye, The rest of us thought it was funny, he did'nt seem to agree though, he still hasn't lived it down

Dont suppose anyone remembers the gent who came to shoot at Stickledown a few years back on an open day. At the last minute he sticks his eye close to the scope (on a .308) and pulls the tit. Nice bloody job on his boat race, his mentor gets threatened for letting it happen, victim declines first aid etc.

A while later he comes back for another go, same mentor, exactly the same trick and finishes the job. This time we saw it happen and backed Tom up.

What worries me was whether this chap had an FAC, or whether he was hoping to get one, but Darwin should have come into the granting process.

A chap at my club fired a .50 Ardesa muzzle loading pistol the other month and you'd have struggled to get a Rizla paper between the pistol and his forehead!!!....to say he was lucky would be an understatement.

I've never had a proper bite but I've had a couple of thumps in the face from rifles I've fitted my ACOG sight. With only 1.5" of eye relief its quite easy to do especially when in the prone position and wearing shooting glasses. Its now sporting a ring of Sugru (silicon putty that sets hard but rubbery) around the eyepiece

Years ago we were doing a pairs shoot and for one of the stages we had to use each others rifles. The bloke using mine managed to scope eye himself. He wiped the blood from his brow with his hand and carried on shooting the rest of the stage with his bloody fingers wrapped round the forestock. He managed to get a little of his blood on the barrel but gun blue doesn't like blood because of organic iron. Fortunately no real damage to my gun.

Got a mild-ish bite to the right eyebrow a couple of years ago from the long-range creedmoor sight on my .451 Volunteer-to this day I can understand how it happened! Didnt realise it was leaking claret until one of the more eloquent members on the line said....
