Brattonsound Safe Shelves

#1 Post by ArcofZen »

I've been meaning to this for ages, but kept procrastinating...

If you're anything like me you are using a full size cabinet to store your ammunition. It works well other than the fact it's supposed to hold firearms/shotguns so doesn't have any shelves (obviously)

Some 12mm Birch faced ply, and a bit of door stop later:

I'll probably add some more shelves as this is by no means all the stuff that came out!

And here's both cabinets:

Pictures are from my boing & it's a bit dark so not the best!

What I do find interesting is that your safes are suspended on the wall and not hidden away, do you have firearms in the other safe ?

Hidden away in the wardrobe ;)
Pretty secure too, you'd have to pull the wall down to remove them.

looks good. I might have used thinner wood up the sides, chopped to the height of the shelves, and made the shelves wider so they sit on the sides, then the next shelf support sits on that one, to give me max space inside.

I need to get round to doing this in my old 3 gun safe.

That is nowhere near enough ammunition, you need to try harder.

That would give more space, might have taken longer though lol

Ovenpaa, you're right that's not all of it!
Besides, there's no such thing as 'enough' bangbang

I like that. :good: Seems more practical than an ammo safe and can also be used for "firearm overspill" when that impulse buy happens. Im off to look for a cheap cabinet
