Variation time - Met Police

#1 Post by daman »

Just over three weeks from posting to receiving it back.

That includes a phone call after two weeks where we had a wee haggle as I'd asked for everything I might want over the next four years ;-) Didn't get everything I asked for, but got my immediate wants.

Good, efficient service as usual from Empress House.

My last renewal was measured in days ! Extremely good service from them at Empress State House (minor correction to daman's post).

The only niggle is that you have to send by Royal Mail they will not accept any other delivery method including couriers and, I believe, hand delivery.

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

God loves stupid people, that is why he made so many of them.

I've stopped using royalmailPLC for anything but foreign deliveries.
Where did their rm only rule originate? Seems extremely short sighted.

Since its more than just firearms at Empress House they may have a contract with RM for everything to be scanned before delivery.

It's coming up to 6 weeks and counting here in Cheshire. I don't know if it's the new PCC that's causing the holdup, or just short staffed, but before Christmas last year I had two variations back in less than 7 days each.

No idea, their website just states "Empress State Building will not take courier deliveries"

RM scan everything? If anything the building should be doing its own scanning.

I am meeting with another part of the Met's Firearms unit next week - I may well ask him AND also mention how good the service is.

RM scan everything?
That's my understanding, and it has been like that for a long time. It was one of the points mentioned in a lecture I attended to do with X-raying suspicious packages.

I have also had positive experiences with MET police (several variations and one renewal).
