And in anothr place where law abiding gun owners are threatened:Last month police in Brazil raided an illicit workshop in the city of Belo Horizonte which was producing submachine guns for large scale criminal distribution, each gun apparently being sold for 3,500 BRL (around $1000 US) through a WhatsApp group. A 68 year old man who worked as Santa Claus in the city’s malls along with his step son (and presumably his chief elf) were arrested. Along with 19 submachine guns and manufacturing equipment police seized 7.62 kilos of cocaine and 10,000 US dollars.

When all guns are outlawed eh.....Much easier to stiff the law abiding and pander to criminals.Earlier this year, we reported on how President Obama’s much-ballyhooed executive clemency program was releasing felons who had been convicted of using firearms in drug trafficking crimes. We noted then the jarring inconsistency of this program with Obama’s executive gun control measures, which targeted hobbyists and collectors making occasional gun sales, licensed dealers, and even Social Security recipients.
But Obama is nothing if not hypocritical. Not only has he increased the scope of his pardons and commutations, but – according to an article in USA Today – he has shifted his strategy to reach more serious and violent offenders. “Before last month, 13% of inmates receiving clemency had used a firearm in the offense,” the article states. “For those granted presidential mercy last month, it was 22%.
