Need a new and better cleaning rod.

#1 Post by Watcher »

For years I've used a standard Parker Hale yellow rod but I'm getting fed up with the jag or brush coming off all the time. Can anyone recommend a better alternative?

Look at the stainless steel Proshot ones.

Highly recommended :goodjob:

Are they screwed on? What makes them come off?

I use the Tipton carbon fibre rods and would recommend them.

They screw on and theoretically stay on because the rod swivels in the handle. Trouble is they never work and the jag or brush just unscrews.

Tipton or Dewey rods. They're the rods I use and I never have any bother with them.

Rubber O-ring on the end of your current rod then screw the jag on sandwiching that...?

Cheaper than a new rod...

OTIS flexi rods - need next to no storage space and don't fall out every time you open the door next to where they're stored
