Musgrave RSA bolt?

#1 Post by TrxR »

Is it normal for a RSA bot to have a little slop to it when fully opened?

Thanks

Define slop? I'd have thought all bolts were a bit rattly when open...

I have noticed that the bolt handle on mine jumps a bit when dry fired, in the same way that Enfield bolts "flick" upwards when fired.

What I mean is it can move side to side and up and down a bit when opened all the way out to the bolt release.

Every bolt does that more or less depending on tolerances.... This is also depending on the number of lugs and if the bolt is full diameter or protruding lugs.

The worst is the 2 lugs design as the bolt is only guided top and bottom and can move horizontally more than vertically.

3 or 4 lugs offer better centering on 3 or 4 segments and are generally assembled on closer tolerances.

Yes as it's basically a Mauser action so perfectly normal.
